The GFWC Gainesville Junior Woman’s Club (GJWC), also known as Juniors, is a not-for-profit organization of women devoted to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. It is for women aged 25-55, and we are an interactive part of the general Gainesville Woman’s Club.
The aim of the club is to promote a spirit of cooperation and mutual helpfulness and to give aid to all worthwhile projects. Members support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.
We encourage all women in the Gainesville area to attend one of our monthly meetings.
Our club meets the first Thursday of even months for lunch and a brief business meeting. We meet at the Flying Biscuit Restaurant in the Millhopper Shopping Center on NW 43rd Street.Lunch and the meeting are from 1-2 pm . In addition, several times a year we join with the Woman’s Club general luncheon meeting at the Gainesville Woman’s Club, located at 2809 West University Avenue between 28th Street and 29th Street, Gainesville, FL 32607-2533. We encourage visitors to attend a lunch and meet with us to learn about our club. If you would like to attend a lunch meeting, please contact Theresa at firstname.lastname@example.org
When you attend a meeting you will join with creative, energetic women in our community. You can here us report on activities in the club and hear about upcoming events, socials, and volunteer opportunities.
The Gainesville Junior Woman’s Club (GJWC) aims to promote volunteerism and friendship for women in our area. Our club is an excellent way to get to know the community, make a difference in the community, and make life-long friends.
The cost to join our club is estimated at $50 per year. That estimate includes: club dues and a name tag. Bi-monthly lunches are your responsibility, and you might participate in the occasional raffle during our monthly meetings. In addition, we hold one annual fundraiser, the Red, White, and more Red event in July, and members are asked to sell $10 tickets and contribute food for this event. Overall, costs for membership are very low, and the return on the investment is tremendous!
